Synopsis:

The presentation will go over the structural design process for the soon-to-open 33-story Bleu Ciel tower in the HARWOOD District of Dallas.

Designed by Architects Wilmotte & Associés in Paris and HDF in Dallas the project will be the 9th development in the 18-city block district of HARWOOD and will showcase many unique architectural features such as the largest terraces in the U.S. and glass cantilevered pools on the 33rd floor.

The different design approaches for gravity and lateral systems will be discussed including the incorporation of wind tunnel testing results in the design of the lateral resisting system.

Bio:

Luc Dewailly is a senior Associate with L.A. Fuess Partners, a structural engineering firm headquartered in Dallas, TX.

He has over 10 years experience in the design of healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments and high-rise buildings.

Luc Dewailly is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas and received a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University as well as a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from ESTP in Paris, France.

He is currently a member of SEAoT, as well as ACI, AISC, and ASCE.
