About the Speaker:
Native Texan and Texas Tech University graduate Alan D. Greer leads the environmental and permitting work for Texas Central, a private, Texas-based company developing the high-speed passenger railway that will connect North Texas and Houston.
Greer is a recognized expert in delivering major, multi-disciplinary projects to scope, schedule and budget. Building on more than 30 years of experience in consulting engineering and infrastructure planning and design, he started working on the high-speed rail project in 2014, leading the Freese and Nichols, Inc. efforts on the Owner-Engineer team which has expanded to his current role with Texas Central.
He has decades of experience leading successful projects through conceptual planning and project definition, preparation of construction plans and specifications, bidding and negotiating contracts, construction administration, cost estimating and scheduling.
Greer’s passion to improve the communities where he lives and works extends beyond his professional commitments and into a number of community service opportunities including Leadership Dallas, Leadership Grapevine and Leadership North Texas. Greer lives in Argyle, Texas with his wife Lori, four daughters, four horses, six rabbits, three dogs and only two ducks!
